Last night I was invited for a tasting event at the Michelin’s Star newly opened restaurant “Taste of Italy”. We got to have a meet and greet with the man himself and also had the privilege to try some of the new menu items.
First let me tell you a bit about the restaurant. Taste of Italy by Heinz Beck features some of the exceptional Italian dishes, perfectly crafted by Chef Heinz himself and the Taste of Italy team. Other than enjoying the delicious antipasti, pizza, raw platters, pasta, appetizers and soups, you can also have a little gourmet retail shopping! You can choose from a selection of high gourmet products such as (homemade artisan breads, pizza crusts, sauces, gelatos and chocolate) basically the best of Italian grocery products (and heaven for Italian food lovers.)
Now let me tell you a bit about my favorite dishes:
- Insalata di mare: Seafood salad ( Seafood mix, zucchini, olives and celery). I would definitely give this salad a ten for EVERYTHING (the taste, the seasoning and the presentation.)
- Calamari e zucchine fritte: Fried calamari with fried zucchini. Soo good, seriously! Fresh, tasty and crispy. Yum!!
- Pasta with pesto sauce and shrimps: This one’s so light yet delicious. The sauce was very tasty and perfectly seasoned, really unlike any other pesto sauce you’ve tasted!
- Tuna steak salad: exceptional! Tuna lovers would really appreciate this piece of art!
