Review: Sofitel The Palm Dubai

Being located on the world’s biggest manmade island “Palm Jumeirah”, Sofitel The Palm is considered one of the few affordable hotels in the area, which combines luxury and modern. The asian-inspired hotel with Polynesian interior, gives you a feeling you’re transported to an exotic forest in Asia.

The resort features a 500m private beach, spacious enough to let you lay back and relax. No matter how crowded the hotel is, it won’t bother you because of how spacious the beach is. You can also enjoy different types of water sports by the beach such as kayaking, paddle boarding and more.

The main swimming pool (one of 6), is located right across the beach and few seconds from the reception. Surrounded with palm trees, and spacious enough for everyone at the resort to have a dip while sipping on refreshing drink from the “Maui” pool bar. The view from this lagoon style pool is exceptional as it overlooks the sea. Kids can also enjoy water slides at the pool near the villas (a 2 minutes walk from the main pool. shown in the first picture)

After finishing your tanning session, you can head to the “So SPA”, where a sauna, Jacuzzi, hammam can help you unwind after a long day.

My experience:

We stayed at the two bedrooms “Opera Suite”. The Polynesian design suite with 125SQM, features a balcony, 2 spacious bathrooms with rainshower and bathtub, and a living room area in between the two rooms. We had access to the executive lounge “Club Millesime” which was at the same floor as our suite. The lounge serves complimentary breakfast, dinner, lunch, snacks buffet, drinks until 11pm. And they have daily happy hour (free alcoholic drinks) from 5:30-8:30. It was one of the best lounges I’ve tried around Dubai, as most of the executive lounges at the hotels offer canap├ęs only, but with this one we didn’t have to go anywhere to get food. You can also grab your drinks and stand in the terrace overlooking the beautiful Palm. The Opera suite accommodates 4 people and costs approximately 2,500 Dhs a night inclusive of breakfast buffet at the “Moana” restaurant.

The second time we stayed at the one bedroom “Beach Suite”. 85SQM, with one bedroom, living room with sofa bed, spacious balcony, and a bathroom with rainshower and bathtub. The view from this one was beathtaking, as it overlooks the beach and the swimming pool. The Beach Suite costs 1,300Dhs ++ per night including breakfast.

Props to the staff of “Club Millesime” who were so welcoming and always smiling. And the director of operations who was so accommodating and made sure we have a good stay.

The hotel offers special rates to the UAE and GCC residents, make sure to call and book the hotel directly to book with the discount.
